Dr. Guy Banta
Guy Banta, Ph.D., MPH is owner of Integrative Martial Arts and Wellness and Director of the Dae Han Mu Sool Federation. A company and organization whose mission is to empower community members with the ability to control their lives through individually catered wellness and lifestyle tactics. To gain self-awareness, understand prevention techniques, and affective use of self-defense.
Dr. Banta’s specialization is in Medical Physiology, Human Performance, and Public Health. He has held membership for numerous years in the American Public Health Association, Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Physiological Society, American Heart Association, International Society of Exercise and Immunology, The Aerospace Medical Association, elected member of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine, and member of the Bexar County Medical Society Alliance San Antonio.
Dr. Banta has been training, practicing, and teaching martial arts for 40 years. He holds a 4th Dan Black Belt in Dae Han Mu Sool Korean Martial Arts, a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Kung Jung Mu Sul Korean Martial Arts, a Black Belt (Black Sash) in Malaya Eskrima Filipino Martial Arts, and a Brown Belt in Japanese Shotokan Karate. His certification and specialization includes close contact self-defense, grip locks, pressure point strikes and martial arts weapon techniques. He is also a nationally Certified Instructor for Women’s Self-Defense. Dr. Banta was inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2014.
